Work in the exciting new commercial space industry at the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport, Spaceport America, in southern New Mexico. This is a State of New Mexico Government position. Seeking an engineer with launch operations experience, and a degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least five years of experience in space launch systems. Example scope includes performing the following: statistical-based risk assessments; launch readiness reviews; space vehicle trajectory analysis; and guidance, navigation and control system analysis. Demonstrated experience in developing or demonstrated familiarity with Space Range Operations Plans and Flight Safety Plans helpful. Knowledge of and experience with FAA Launch Site Operator License requirements is a plus. US Citizenship is required.
