SPACEPORT AMERICA AEROSPACE ENGINEER

Work in the exciting new commercial space industry at the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport, Spaceport America, in southern New Mexico. This is a State of New Mexico Government position. Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with at least five years of experience in space systems, performing the following: statistical-based risk assessments; launch readiness reviews; space vehicle trajectory analysis; and guidance, navigation and control system analysis. Demonstrated experience in developing or demonstrated familiarity with Space Range Operations Plans and Flight Safety Plans. Knowledge of and experience with FAA Launch Site Operator License requirements is a plus. US Citizenship is required.

SPACEPORT AMERICA FLIGHT CONTROL SPECIALIST

Work in the exciting new commercial space industry at the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport, Spaceport America, in southern New Mexico. This is a State of New Mexico Government position. Degree in Aeronautical Science, Aerospace Engineering or Air Traffic Management with at least five years of experience in civilian or military air traffic control operations. Demonstrated experience with aircraft communications protocols, airspace classification, NOTAM issuance, and FAA policies and procedures is desired. US Citizenship required.

SPACEPORT AMERICA MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Work in the exciting new commercial space industry at the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport, Spaceport America, in southern New Mexico. This is a New Mexico State Government position. An applicant must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Technical Degree desired. An applicant must have at least two years of experience preferably at least four in: altering, erecting, repairing or demolishing residential or commercial buildings including concrete repairs, maintenance and construction; the ability to write reports, read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, and operating/maintenance instructions; landscaping and minor road repair. An applicant must have a New Mexico GB-98 license or be eligible to serve as a qualifying party to a GB-98 license. US Citizenship is required.

SPACEPORT AMERICA IT SUPPORT GENERALIST I

Work in the exciting new commercial space industry at the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport, Spaceport America, in southern New Mexico. This is a New Mexico State Government position. This position will be the point of contact for the Help Desk site-wide services for Spaceport America including IT, General Services & Protective Services. This person will install & configure basic equipment. They will troubleshoot, identify & analyze IT problems to support NMSA. The position will assist the IT Gen II in managing all Spaceport IT systems.  Position is located in Upham, NM. US Citizenship is required.

Education: Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or MIS discipline.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in multiple areas such as systems analysis, design, management, application design and development, and/or all areas of computer support services.

Equivalency: Any combination of education from an accredited college or university In a related field and/or direct experience In this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

SPACEPORT AMERICA BRAND MARKETING MANAGER

Work in the exciting new commercial space industry at the world’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport, Spaceport America, in southern New Mexico. This is a New Mexico State Government position. The Spaceport Brand Marketing Manager will develop and execute results-producing brand marketing strategies, programs and tactics across social and digital platforms as well as traditional media. The Brand Marketing Manager must be a creative and collaborative self-starter that can deliver creative products with positive market outcomes on predefined schedules. US Citizenship is required.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related fields.

Experience: Five (5) years of experience in B2B Marketing and/or Sponsorships and three (3) years experience in Marketing Communications. Track record of developing, executing, measuring and optimizing communications, public relations and social media content and campaigns.

Job Skills: Marketing communications, public relations and social media industry knowledge and interest, as well as skills and initiative to stay current with latest trends. Meticulous and detailed oriented with the ability to define clear objectives and deliver on time and within budget. Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+, WordPress, etc. Demonstrated ability to leverage customer insight data to refine brand management.

Core Skills: Creative and insightful thinker with innovative spirit that can excite and attract customers. Results oriented, self-starter with a proven record for developing marketing programs with measurable outcomes to key goals. Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment. Data driven, results oriented with a strong sense of pace and urgency to ensure work is completed in the expected timelines at high levels of quality. “Can do” attitude with out of the box thinking. Passion for “space” is a plus.
