Up Aerospace Reports Successful Launch At Spaceport America PDF Print E-mail

LAS CRUCES, NM – New Mexico Spaceport Authority (NMSA) officials announced a successful launch of a test flight vehicle by UP Aerospace from Spaceport America at 12 p.m. MST on December 19. The brief test flight was a non-public, unpublished event at the request of the UP Aerospace client, who is testing proprietary advanced launch technologies. UP Aerospace President Jerry Larson said. “The flight, which was solely for research and development purposes, met all its technical objectives, and was a successful test for our client.” The launch vehicle reached its planned altitude of 2,500 ft.

This launch marks the second successful launch this year from Spaceport America, the nation’s first purpose-built commercial spaceport. “UP Aerospace continues to set the precedent for safe, practical commercial spaceflight from Spaceport America,” said NMSA Executive Director Steve Landeene. “This launch is another step toward our goal of becoming the preeminent location for commercial spaceflight.”
